I would not have predicted my career in therapeutic bodywork. Listening to some inner guidance, I took a surprise left turn and went to massage school without having ever received a massage. That guidance turned out to be just what I needed. I had grown up in a touch-averse family, and graduated college cynical, exhausted and in desperate need of healing. Massage therapy, along with yoga, nature, and music, became my go-to wellness practices which I continue to use and happily share with others.
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1994, am a graduate of the Body Therapy Institute, and have thousands of hours of additional study in Thai massage and therapeutic yoga – both of which I have taught. I customize each bodywork session using deep myofascial release, Hawaiian-style Lomi Lomi, Thai massage, Swedish, energy balancing, guided imagery, and more.
When I’m not practicing massage, yoga, or being my family chauffeur and cook, I can often be found playing piano, doing art with my daughter, communing with a tree, or penning creative ideas. I look forward to meeting and working with you in the beautiful sanctuary of Urban Exhale.
